Race day at El Mirage and San Fernando (Note: this video takes about 30 seconds to load due to size)

El Mirage dry lake was one of the favorite spots to run your car wide open at top speed which tested your driving skills. The video below has been converted from 8mm file and provides a glimpse into one of the activities we called fun back in the 60’s.  Part one of the video are club members on the El Mirage dry lake. Part two of the video is film footage from members running their cars in the quarter mile at San Fernando Drag strip.
